Lucy Kitten and the Amazon Box

According to her RSPCA records, Lucy Kitten will be one year old this month, so no longer a kitten. What could be a better birthday present for a cat, than a cardboard box?

Especially a cardboard box that holds a python sized, coiled up tube of packing paper......

Waiting to pounce....

...and attack with sharp white teeth.

Biting and tearing off scraps of the "snake"............

....with pointed claws out.......

....and all under the disdainful glare of Forest Cat, who has little time for kitten games.

A cross, hunting face.......

....and then she pounces on the cardboard, biting and worrying it to certain death.

What a delightful post! You are quite right - there is not a cat in the world who would not be happy with a cardboard box as a present. Particularly one with a curled up paper snake in it.

It looks a though Lucy is going to be quite a handful.

Isn't she beautiful! So is Forest Cat of course, despite being too dignified to kill paper snakes.....

Nice photos of a very sweet cat, cats do love to play in cardboard boxes, and it’s always fun to watch them. Great post.

You have two beautiful cats.Lucy is just a teenager still full of fun....cats so love boxes.
I had one folded over closed, to stop feline entry as I needed it. Somehow Lucky must have pushed in but then was locked in side ... should have got the camera as all I was met with was a paw punching the air through the small space in the top.

Lucy is indeed a pretty girl--just about the age of "our Willis."
Tabby markings are so classic--I love to think of the tabbies through the ages who have graced homes and farms on both sides of the Atlantic.
I do think that a cat "killing" a paper or such is a cat who must be taken seriously!

Lucy has grown up to be the sweetest little cat. I did enjoy her adventures. I smiled at Forest cat "I'm above all that nonsense" LOL

So true, what kitten could pass up a box and rolls of paper. Much enjoyment !
You have beautiful cats, so similar in coloring too.

cheers, parsnip

There's two boxes in my office and one in the middle of the kitchen floor -- the ones in my office are slept in, but the one in the kitchen seems to be either home base or king's X space for kitty tag. It is just west of the "Forest of Chairs" that is my dining room table.
