A Goldfinch
This feather-soft creatureTail to head,
In golden yellow,
And black, and red.
A sip of water,
A twig to sit on,
A prong for nest,
The air to wing on.
A mate to love,
Some thistledown seed
Are all his joy, life,
Beauty, need.

I can just imagine the end of that tail flicking back and forth....We have a lot of long-tailed tits here at present, they are like delightful ping-pong balls.
A scene I have personal experience of my dear! I bet your ginger young man was very peeved to be the wrong side of the glass!
Great pictures, I can hear the cat "singing". My husband put up a feeding shelf outside the window that has our cat's window seat and she "sings" frequently, but sadly not well.
Does your cat make "chirping" noises at the birds? I've had several over the years who became very excited while bird watching and made strange little sounds.
The Ginger One doesn`t chirp MM, but the old calico lady cat does, with much twitching of her whiskers!
