In the mild, damp garden, a perlagonium flowers out of season.
A camelia flower shows splashes of brown damage from a morning rain shower.
Teasel tops wait to feed seed eating birds.
Woody munches his breakfast hay in a muddy field.
Bluebells spears spike early out of the earth.
A tight, white camelia bud will bloom tomorrow.

While back inside the house, Lucy crouches by her scratching post........

It's pretty much like that in this house too - wet dogs, lurking cats, flowers a little out of season. Happy New Year to all!
WOL and the kitties wish you and yours a happy new year filled with all the best that life has to offer.
Happy New Year to you all. Lovely to see all your animals enjoying life (our cats have decided that the sitting room is THE place to be as it's warmer than the kitchen!)
I abandoned all ideas of a New Year's Day walk when the monsoon arrived!
Absolutely lovely.
What I love the best is the photo of the wet but darling paws. What a beautiful friend he is.
I can't believe the New Year is here already ! Yikes @_@
But...
It's looks like you had a great start to the New Year. What more can we ask for.

Wet feet and dogs go together like peaches and cream at this time of the year. Happy New Year to you all.
Yes we all came back with wet paws, including Husband who slipped down th river bank and got water in his wellies LOL
Loving the pic of the sweet old dog.
Plenty of buds on our camellia but no flowers just yet.
Happy new Year!
There's always something worth seeing in a garden or the countryside even on a grey, wet morning. Happy New Year!
Happy New year to you all...from a very wet Sussex! :0)
Happy New Year to you, too, DW. Although the morning started out sunny and warm-ish for January, we're now in an icy grip of Canadian cold. My crew have disappeared to the duvet in my bedroom.
Happy New Year. We have crocuses out - a sign of spring.
