The weather turned warm yesterday and the sun came out this morning. We had planned an afternoon out at Kingston Lacey House near Wimborne, where the snowdrops are at their best.
As we set off along our lane, we found a sleepy group of young New Forest ponies sunbathing on the green.
At Kingston Lacey, we joined our sons and their families for a walk around the gardens. A lovely , gentle walk among trees and spring flowers. Expect a longer post soon!
Afterwards, we drove down towards the Purbecks for tea at Elder Son`s. The two new cats were shy at first, but Figgy soon grew bolder.
Gizzy hid under the table, but little Granddaughter tempted him to play with a furry "tail on a string" and they spent a happy hour getting to know each other.

awwwwwwwww, cuteness x 100
It looks like all the "Grands" got along fabulously.
I must find out more about the New Forest Horses and who owns them and takes care of them.
They looked very comfortable.
cheers, parsnip
Your day seems perfect. I love walks at spring time and the flowers are spectacular. England is so pretty this time of year
The cat and your daughter bonding is priceless
Continued happiness

Spring has certainly sprung in your little corner of the world. Here in North Carolina we went from two inches of snow on Monday to 78F on Thursday. Can you say weird wild weather?
What a lovely day!
String and food - doesn't take much to tempt cats out, does it!
The snow drops look amazing at Kingston Lacey ,we have only been there when the bluebells were out.Your sons new cats are lovely and hope they will overcome their shyness with you.
Thank you for joining my blog and giving me the opportunity to find your lovely one too. You have some wonderful photos and I shall look forward to following you too,and finding out more about the more hidden parts of the New Forest.

Lovely photographs. Aren't cats funny - however shy they are they just cannot resist a moving object can they?
So many Snowdrops that they look like snow drifts!
Sweet Granddaughter and cat pictures too.
We had a warm and sunny day yesterday but there was a sharp frost this morning.
Your little GD looks like a poppet! I did enjoy the photos of the cats playing and the ponies laying in the sun.
Gorgeous photos, love the ponies basking in the sun, cats scrummy and your grandaughter, what a cutie. Julie xxx
What a lovely display of snowdrops at Kingston Lacey and lovely to see the New Forest ponies.
Cute cats too!
I looked at my Snowdrops last week and thought that you would soon be doing your Snowdrop Walk - what a lovely family tradition.
I am glad that the cats decided your little GD wasn't someone to be frightened of and played happily with her. They do remind me of my boys - same colouring too, except that our Alfie is darker ginger.
Lovely photo of the ponies all laying down, taking their ease : ) Love to everyone.
What lovely golden curls your granddaughter has. The ponies made me think of that George Harrison song, "Here Comes the Sun." ("And I say, it's all right.")
Serious cuteness!
Just look at the ponies just soaking up the sun! I do so love snowdrops. Haven't seen any in years. Just beautiful.
I think this was a gentle afternoon gathering that will be fondly recalled by everyone present--and maybe the cats will remember that your grand daughter is their friend. I'm always pleased to see a child who knows how to interact with animals.
Lovely pictures and the weather has been perfect to get out for a family walk. Spring has arrived here in the north today, it is sunny and 15c. All the horses rugs are off and they are really enjoying it.
