It has been hot and sunny ALL DAY today! The first day this summer that a grey cloud has not crept across the sky to dampen spirits and threaten yet more rain. I took these photos in the late afternoon, but even then the light levels seemed higher than they had been for weeks.
Above is a lily I was given years ago as a birthday present. Today it was flowering better than ever.
This corner is a mixture of purple hebe, mallow and the cream of a hydrangea coming into flower.
The hebe was covered in feeding honey bees.
The Kiftsgate Rose has been seriously pruned this year. Its clumps of fragrant white flowers seemed to glow in the afternoon sunlight.

Beautiful
So happy you are finally having some summer !
cheers, parsnip
Your garden is looking beautiful. I especially liked the photo of the Hebe, Mallow and Hydrangea all together. Mine is merely looking A Mess right now. It needs some TLC but I have a lot of leaves and not many flowers . . . stuff died over the winter I fear. But, Kiftsgate is working her magic in the corner, and now she has reached the top of the Hawthorn tree, looks like a giant bunch of roses.
Your garden looks beautiful. I have just discovered a Hydrangea in my garde - bright pink and a Mallow - a less hot pink. No idea where they came from.
Isn't the sunshine wonderful to see again. I'm sure more people were smiling as I walk past them in the street today!
Your lily is such a beautiful colour. I would love a kiftsgate rose but my husband won't let me buy one for the garden as they grow so huge!

Lucky you, having sunshine all day. Up here in the North of England it has been cloudy with occasional sunshine and also rather chilly.
Hooray for the sunshine! Isn't it lovely to be able to spend time in the garden again?
Hope you are having a good week :0)
