Shy Dog and Friend Caught on Camera

Whisper Dog hates being photographed. He used to have a very low opinion of cats. The Ginger Puss has decided to become a friend. He used to share a basket with Old Dog and has missed him.

First attempts by the cat were met with snarls and the showing of teeth. Gradually, over many months, Whisper has come to accept these quiet and persistent overtures of friendship.

Whisper is also camera shy, so we tried taking these with an i phone camera. It didn`t take long for him to realise that he had been fooled..........

...and seconds later he was gone!

Interesting as Tess doesn;t care to be photographed either - I often wonder why.

Oh I love this. What beautiful animals. Ginger Puss is THE MOST gorgeous colour and reminds me of our old Burmog Womble (mummy- posh Burmese- had a passionate but short affair with the local disreputable Tom who left her holding 5 babies: our burmogs). Whisper Dog is beautiful too :-)

Lovely to see whisper dog and ginger puss together. I remember how close he was to old Dog.

Our son's short-haired Border Collie, Katy, is very wary of a camera. When he visited for a week in June I was concerned that Katy would be unkind to our cats. To my relief H. 'introduced' Katy to each feline as it put in an appearance and cautioned her to 'be nice'. The mutual wariness was nearly resolved just in time for their departure for home.

So sweet to see them together. When Snippet was a pup, he used to get on fine with one of my neighbour's cats, but now they are most definitely seen as prey!

How lovely - I suspect they'll become great friends eventually.

I'm glad they've become friends!

My mum's dog and cat share beds, but my cats just tolerate each other!

Goodness, you HAVE been wet, haven't you? It's been pretty dry up here. I hope your garden has dried out a bit.
