Life is busy here. There is a lot going on in our village and we have had old friends to stay. The garden and the animals need time and the weather has been lovely.
Out on the heath, at the bottom of the hill, crab apple blossom has fallen but the hawthorn (May) is at its best.
This old hawthorn has branches draped in lichen and a secret bunch of mistletoe that has been there for years.
Late on a sunny afternoon, the May blossom is beautiful against blue skies.

Snap - I intend to mention May in my blog post today. It looks superb at the moment and so graceful on the bough.
Lovely to see your familiar trees in full bloom.
We have been in Northumberland, a couple of hundred miles North of us and yet the May blossom is in full bloom there - it is not showing here yet on our return. Still I am glad we didn't miss it at its best.
The May blossom is glorious this year.
Love from Mum

Lovely photos. I love hawthorns!
Lovely to see Hawthorns looking so good this year, they are in blossom all along the coastal path and I planted two in my garden.
Beautiful ! What a lovely May you are having.
So different from my desert.

The May blossom looks wonderful in your lovely pictures. Sarah x
I've just published my first pictures of the garden ever and only because it's May - no month like it. Absolutely beautiful.
Everything looks so lovely under the blue sky....which has totally disappeared here now for the last two days and been replaced instead with rain! :-)
Blackthorn where I live was a disappointment this year but the May seems to be going on for ever!
