An early autumn walk around my garden

This is a garden of wilderness and good intention. Cottage garden plants compete with spreading shrubs. Self seeded annuals, herbs and grasses mix with roses in the last flush of summer bloom, while weeds grow where they will. If a weed is a wild flower in the wrong place, and the flower gives nectar to the bees, then it may be granted leave to stay. Teasles and mallow, wood avens and celandine, bluebells and wild roses seed where they will and brighten a corner of a country garden in their time of bloom.

Now,in these warm October days, late flowers brighten a mass of green amongst the silvers, golds and reds of leaf and stem.

Blow a kiss to your lovely garden from me. Mine is in the state where it needs some tlc, but so do I today, so it will have to wait until next week. I too have your "weeds" and they are welcome. I have huge stands of Purple Loosestrife which I am loathe to cut down yet as they still have flowers on. They are not growing where it is appropriate for Purple Loosestrife to grow, but I love them all the same : )

P.S. I miss your garden btw. . .
