In a Flowering Wood

Last Sunday, we walked in the woodland garden of a local nursery (MacPenny`s of Bransgore) on an afternoon of cloud interspersed with bright blue sky.

The tall old oak promised to break bud soon.

Late snowdrops......

....the first bluebell I have seen in flower this spring........

...and red camelias high above our heads.

Sweet scented mahonia.....

....camelias and a honey bee......

Dappled sunlight on eucalyptus.......

.....and along a woodland path.

Camelias....

......a vivid pink azalea......

...and South African Snowflakes in a sunlit border.

Trees of interesting shapes from far-off lands.....

....and everywhere, the dance of sunlight on flower, stem, bark and leaf.

Beautiful walk for springtime. I think I recognized some bamboo there. I love a good stand of bamboo!

fab photos, particularly the 2 of paths. I would so love to walk down them, they look so inviting.

Lovely photos showing the beginning of Spring - they all go to show just how much further on the season is where you live than it is up here. I have just seen my first marsh marigold and the first bit of hawthorn out on the hedge - but one things is for certain - Spring is on its way.

So lovely.

(Alas, we can't go to London because of my mum, who lives with us now.)

Sunshine makes so much difference! I love the camellias. Mine is out, surrounded by a sea of building rubble!
